IMC Licensing Announces
Panelists for
2007 LICENSING International Seminar
LOUISVILLE, KY – IMC Licensing, the nation’s leading
full-service licensing agency specializing in consumer
product brands, announced the panelists who will participate
in the seminar its CEO and Co-Founder, Stephen R. Reily,
will moderate during Licensing University 2007, the
educational conference for industry professionals to be
conducted during the 27th Annual LICENSING International
Show June 19 - 21, 2007 in New York, NY.
Mr. Reily will serve as moderator for a panel discussing "A
New Look at Corporate Brand Licensing” tentatively scheduled
for Wednesday, June 20, 2007 from 10:45am - 12:15pm at the
Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Joining him will be:
-
Lincoln S Davis, Director, Trademark Licensing at
General Mills Inc.
Mr. Davis assumed responsibility for Trademark Licensing
activities at General Mills in July of 2005 and has been
responsible for repositioning the activity as a
strategic business solution for General Mills Marketing
Divisions. Under his direction, the business planning
process now includes licensing as a fourth alternative
in the food product development process: making the
product, buying an existing company, contract
manufacturing or licensing. Prior to his licensing role,
he was responsible for General Mills Direct Marketing
and on-line business initiatives. Beginning his career
in finance, Mr. Davis has held management positions in
information systems, human resources, marketing,
operations and corporate recruiting. He is a graduate of
Macalester College with a double major in Economics and
East Asian Studies.
-
Peter M. Fox, Vice President, New Business Development
and Licensing, The Coleman Company.
At Coleman, which has a licensing program that generates
over $400 million at retail, Mr. Fox has reduced the
number of licensees from 29 to 14, and in the process
grown revenues by over 12%. He is rebuilding Coleman’s
licensing program to align it strategically with the
long-term direction of the brand in the outdoor market.
Mr. Fox has over twenty-seven years of business
experience covering Design Engineering, Product
Development, Marketing, Trade Marketing, Category
Management, New Business Development, and most recently,
Licensing. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in
Management from Cardinal Stritch College, an MBA from
Virginia Commonwealth University, is the holder of one
design patent and two functional patents, and is a
certified Six Sigma Black Belt.
Using the licensing partnership between Kroger and Disney as
his starting-point, Mr. Reily and the panelists will speak
on the distinction between “brand placement” and “brand
extension” among brand-licensing deals. Rich in case
studies, their presentation will help brand licensing
professionals – licensors, licensees, agents and others –
understand a new way of looking at brand licensing; the new
products it generates; the competencies required to execute
it; and the ways to measure its benefits.
At IMC Licensing, Mr. Reily is responsible for overseeing
licensing strategy and relationships with clients as well as
IMC’s business development and marketing efforts within the
licensing industry. Mr. Reily serves on the Advisory Board
of the Licensing Journal, where for three years he wrote a
monthly column on corporate trademark licensing. He serves
on the Education Committee and has served as an officer of
the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers'
Association (LIMA), the trade organization of the licensing
industry, and is a member of the International Trademark
Association (INTA) and the Licensing Executives Society
(LES). In addition, Mr. Reily has published articles in
BRANDWEEK, brandchannel.com among others, and has been a
featured speaker at leading industry events including
Licensing University, LINK and The Licensing Letter
Symposium. A former corporate attorney, Mr. Reily graduated
from Yale College, summa cum laude, and from Stanford Law
School, after which he clerked for Justice John Paul Stevens
of the U.S. Supreme Court.
