LOUISVILLE, KY – IMC Licensing, the nation's leading
full-service licensing agency specializing in consumer product
brands, announced today that it has had a record year since
June 2005, outperforming agency expectations by executing
multiple new client agreements and delivering distinctive
new licensed products to the marketplace.
Variety of Exciting New Clients
IMC Licensing is working with a variety
of new clients this year including:
- Pure Fishing, the
world’s largest fishing tackle company. IMC Licensing
is developing a strategic licensing plan and product portfolio
for the Pure Fishing family of brands including Abu Garcia®,
Berkley®, Fenwick®, Johnson®, Mitchell®,
Red Wolf® and Spider® products.
- The Sierra Club®,
America’s oldest, largest and most influential grassroots
environmental organization. IMC Licensing is developing
a strategic licensing plan and a portfolio of new brand-building
licensed products to support the Sierra Club’s mission
to explore, enjoy and protect the planet.
- The Wrigley Company,
a recognized leader in the confectionary field and the world’s
largest manufacturer and marketer for chewing gum. IMC Licensing
is developing a strategic licensing plan and a portfolio
of new products for Wrigley’s famous Life Savers®
and Creme Savers® brands.
- Remington Arms Company,
Inc., home of America’s oldest gunmaker which designs,
produces and sells sporting goods products for the hunting
and shooting sports markets as well as military, government
and law enforcement markets. IMC Licensing is developing
a strategic licensing plan and a portfolio of new brand-building
licensed products for Remington.

Consumer Products
In addition, no other agency represents more food and beverage
brands than IMC Licensing, many of which have recently launched
new consumer products in the marketplace including:
- Life Savers®
Pops and Life Savers® Real Fruit Sherbet, new frozen
novelties and sherbet targeting consumers of all ages. IMC
Licensing negotiated both licensing agreements for Wrigley’s
Life Savers® brand, working with Unilever’s Popsicle®
brand as well as Kemps Ice Cream, to launch these new dessert
and novelty products in time for summer.
- JELL-O® Jigglers,
refrigerator and freezer safe, FDA-approved, non-stick silicone
molds which ensure that delicious JELL-O creations can be
removed from molds with ease and can retain their shape
for ideal appearance. IMC Licensing, Kraft’s licensing
agency, secured and negotiated this deal with Lifetime Brands,
Inc. a leading designer, marketer and distributor of houseware
products.
- JELL-O® Lip Smackers,
a collection of clear and refreshing Lip Smackers lip gloss
for girls that look and taste like JELL-O fruit flavors.
IMC Licensing negotiated this deal for Kraft’s JELL-O
brand with The Bonne Bell Company’s Smackers®
brand, the #1 favorite lip gloss of girls.
- Crock-Pot® Slow
Cooker - TABASCO® Special Edition, a multi-purpose stoneware
slow cooker embossed with the shape of the peppers from
which TABASCO is made. IMC Licensing negotiated this deal
for TABASCO with The Holmes Group, a fully integrated consumer
products company and a leading manufacturer of consumer
products for home environment, kitchen and lighting.
- Manischewitz®
Seltzer Water, available in plain and flavored varieties
that can be mixed with Manischewitz grape juice or Manischewitz
wine to create spritzers. IMC Licensing negotiated this
deal for R.A.B. Food Group’s Manischewitz brand with
U.S. Seltzer.
IMC Licensing also represents a variety of non-food brands in
their new product initiatives:
- Cub Cadet® Commercial
and Utility Trailers and Cub Cadet® Snow Plows, new
professional grade accessories including a line of landscape
and utility trailers and a line of premium snow plows, developed
to solidify the brand’s relationship with commercial
landscaping customers and extend the relationship beyond
seasonal boundaries. IMC Licensing secured and negotiated
this deal for Cub Cadet with SnowBear, Ltd., the industry
leader in personal snow plows and trailers.
Talented and Expanding Team
To support growing portfolio and client needs, IMC Licensing
has recently expanded its office facilities and recruited several
new team members while promoting others:
- Todd Donaldson has
joined the company as Business Development Manager. Before
joining IMC Licensing, Mr. Donaldson was responsible for
the account management and retention of more than ten Fortune
200 client companies for SHPS Human Resources Solutions.
- Kim Steadman has
joined IMC Licensing as Licensing Manager with over 12 years
of licensing experience with corporate brands. Before joining
IMC Licensing, Ms. Steadman was Corporate Licensing Manager
for Yamaha Motor Corp., USA and previously Licensing Coordinator
for American Honda Motor Co., Inc.
- Robert Heavrin has
joined IMC as Licensing Coordinator. He is a 2005 graduate
of the University of Louisville where he received a B.S.B.A.
in Marketing, served as President of the Student Marketing
Association and completed a year-long merchandising internship
with GE.
- Bruce D. Bridges,
previously Senior Licensing Manager, has been promoted to
Vice President, Licensing. In this role, Mr. Bridges will
be responsible for the development and management of licensing
programs for the corporate trademarks and brands IMC Licensing
represents and for the development and management of IMC
Licensing’s professionals in the conduct of this work.
- Sean Heitkemper,
previously Business Development Manager, has been promoted
to Vice President, Business Development. In this role, Mr.
Heitkemper will be responsible for identifying and developing
new client relationships for IMC Licensing with key brands
across a wide variety of consumer product brand categories.
- Paula Phillips, previously
Licensing Manager, has been promoted to Senior Licensing
Manager. In this role, Ms. Phillips will be responsible
for developing and managing portfolios of license agreements
for IMC Licensing clients. She has a proven track record
establishing licensing programs for many top consumer product
brands including Life Savers, Milk-Bone, Oreo and Planters.
Well-Respected Industry Thought-Leaders
In addition, IMC Licensing continues to lead the industry
through its thought-leading articles, presentations and work
for America’s leading brands. Its co-founders, CEO Stephen
R. Reily and President Cara K. Bernosky, have been active
speakers at multiple industry conferences:
- In September 2005,
Mr. Reily spoke at The Licensing Letter Symposium: The Future
of Licensing on in Chicago on the topic of Integrating Licensing
into the Core Program,” addressing how to make sure
the goals and rollout of the licensing program mesh with
that of the brand or property it supports.
- In October 2005,
Ms. Bernosky spoke at the Licensing International Networking
Conference (Link) held October 5 – 7, 2005 in New
York City in remarks titled “Food for Thought,”
discussing how licensing can generate results for food and
beverage brands and the role that licensing should play
in brand marketing plans.
- In November 2005,
Mr. Reily participated at the School, Home, & Office
Products Association (SHOPA) Paperworld USA Conference held
November 9 – 11, 2005 in Las Vegas as part of a four-person
panel discussing the topic “New Developments in Entertainment
Licensing” including the ins-and-outs of licensing
entertainment properties, corporate brands and publishing
titles from the perspectives of both licensor and licensee.
- In June 2006, Ms.
Bernosky will moderate a seminar for Licensing University
2006 during the 26th Annual L!CENSING International Show
June 20 - 22, 2006 in New York, NY. The panel will discuss
"Opportunities in Food Licensing" and will present
a state of the industry discussion among big industry players
concerning why some food brands choose to license while
others do not, how big food brands think about and consider
licensing and what are the opportunities for growth in the
food licensing sector.
