BORIS PERES, PH.D.,

Managing Director

Boris brings great expertise with consumer research, market analysis, strategic planning and patent licensing to IMC. His strategic point of view and strong experience help IMC clients better understand the market potential for developing and implementing patent, technology and brand licensing opportunities. Boris joined the IMC team upon the acquisition of ThinkFire Trademark Licensing where he served as co-founder and COO, leading consumer research and market analysis. Prior to founding ThinkFire Trademark Licensing, Boris played an integral role at ThinkFire Services USA, identifying companies interested in licensing and buying clients' IP and driving the implementation process. Before joining ThinkFire, Boris was the founder and COO of Velox Semiconductor, a spin-off of Emcore Corporation. At Velox, Boris negotiated and implemented a successful licensing agreement with STMicroelectronics, giving Velox immediate recognition in the semiconductor power device market which later led to the sale of Velox to Power Integration, Inc. (Nasdaq: POWI). During his time at Emcore, Boris managed IP and licensing programs and was responsible for orchestrating the licensing programs of Laser Separation of Sapphire substrates to Taiwanese LED manufacturers and Alkyl Manifold technology to Japanese equipment manufacturers. Prior to Emcore/Velox, Boris served as an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company where he worked with a variety of clients in High Tech, Internet and Pharmaceutical industries.

Boris holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with minor in Business Administration from Cornell University.
