IMC Licensing Signs Agreement
to Represent Bruce Foods
LOUISVILLE, KY –
IMC Licensing, the nation's leading
full-service licensing agency specializing in consumer
product brands, announced today that it has entered into a
representation agreement with Louisiana-based
Bruce Foods, a
leading manufacturer of Canned Southern Vegetables, Hot
Sauces and Tex Mex Food products for more than half a
century. IMC will develop a
strategic licensing plan and a portfolio of new
brand-building licensed products to support the Bruce Foods
and Bruce’s Yams brands.
Founded in 1928 in New Iberia, Louisiana,
Bruce Foods was an early pioneer in the Cajun and Tex Mex
food categories, founding the company’s Mexican food plant
in El Paso, Texas in 1931 and creating the first canned
Mexican food. Today Bruce Foods is one of America's largest
privately-owned food manufacturers with more than 1,200
employees, four processing plants in the U.S. and an
affiliated facility in The Netherlands. The company
manufactures more than 550 food products under nine major
brands – with products distributed throughout the U.S. and
in more than 100 countries, and carried by most of the top
retail grocery chains worldwide.
According to Cara Bernosky, IMC President and
Co-Founder, “We are delighted to be working with Bruce
Foods. The #1 selling brand of
canned sweet potatoes in the US and the world, and
the only brand in the US that really means sweet potatoes,
Bruce’s Yams is poised to bring its brand strength to the
fast growing category of sweet potatoes. We plan to explore
food categories where
we can leverage the strong health and flavor
equities of sweet potatoes such as baked goods, breakfast
foods, desserts and side dishes.”
