Consumer Electronics Show (CES) –

January 7-10, 2008

IMC recently attended the CES tradeshow and made the following observations:

Brand Highlights
  • Leadsinger debuted their Disney Hannah Montana Secret Star karaoke branded product. They will also be coming out with a product for Disney’s High School Musical.

  • For Dummies brand products were introduced at the show, including a GPS Navigation system by Maylong.

New Products on Show

  • Panasonic introduced a 150 inch advanced high definition plasma display television.

  • Motorola wins CNET’s Best of CES in the category of cell phones and smart phones with their Rokr E8.

  • Sony introduced the EXL-1 OLED television with an 11inch screen and only 3mm in depth. It is 30 times sharper than a conventional flat screen television

Licensing Trends and Thoughts

Gaming had a decent presence at CES 2008 with many opportunities in licensing for gear and accessories. Although accessories for the IPOD dominated the show, many companies were also introducing products for Microsoft’s Zune.
