Matterhorn Ice Cream Introduces

New Crystal Light  Frozen Pops

BOISE, ID – Matterhorn Group, Inc., a U.S. independent producer of ice cream novelties, today announced the launch of new Crystal Light® Frozen Pops, now available in the frozen novelty section of select grocery stores. Crystal Light, the Sugar-Free Drink Mix category leader, has changed the way women drink water.  For over 20 years, Crystal Light drink mix has been the leading low-calorie fruit-flavored refreshment beverage.  Its On The Go packets of powder can be added to a bottle or glass of water for a tasty drink anytime, anywhere.  Crystal Light is also available in 16 fluid ounce ready-to-drink bottles.

“The introduction of Crystal Light Frozen Pops offers consumers a new way to enjoy the great flavors and authentic taste of Crystal Light,” said Frank Everett, vice president of marketing for Matterhorn Ice Cream. “The Crystal Light brand has long been known for refreshing, delicious beverages.  We saw an opportunity to leverage this strong brand equity to secure the ’frozen refreshment’ position in the frozen novelty category.”

New Crystal Light Frozen Pops are 1.65 fluid ounces each and sold ten to a box at a suggested retail price of $3.99. They have only 15 calories per serving and are available in three different flavor combinations, two flavors per box:

-  Raspberry Lemonade and Lemonade Frozen Pops

-  Peach Ice Tea and Raspberry Ice Frozen Pops

-  Fruit Punch and Classic Orange Frozen Pops

“These new Crystal Light Frozen Pops have been formulated to provide the full flavor of Crystal Light and offer health conscious consumers a choice not previously available,” said Gary Doyle, president and CEO of Matterhorn. “In a category known for juvenile tastes and textures, the adult need for a great-tasting, low-calorie ice pop has been answered by Crystal Light.”

IMC Licensing, Kraft’s licensing agency and the nation’s leading licensing agency specializing in consumer product brands, secured and negotiated this deal. Crystal Light Frozen Pops are available at more than 200 Giant Eagle locations throughout Western Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia and Maryland as of July 2008. In addition, the product is available at 340 California locations including Save Mart Supermarket, Raley’s, Bel Air, Nob Hill and Lucky.
