Fancy Food Show

All Things Organic

MarketTechnics

IMC recently attended FMI, the Fancy Food Show, All Things Organic, and MarketTechnics and made the following observations:

Brand Highlights
  • KRAFT continued its dedication to licensed brands with new offerings in the South Beach, California Pizza Kitchen, Taco Bell, and Tazo lines.

  • Bob Greene's Best Life Diet list of approved foods continues to grow. It includes products from Barilla, Bertolli, Cascadian Farm, Green Giant, Progresso, Slim Fast and General Mills.

Licensing Trends and Thoughts

  • Celebrity, entertainment, and kid’s brands continue to make several forays into food and beverage. Disney continues to offer new products both within and outside of it partnership with Kroger. Crayola water is finding its way onto shelves across the country.

New Products on Show

  • Jimmy Hendrix Liquid Experience is a new energy drink from Beverage Concepts. Will it soon follow in the footsteps of Cocaine, the energy drink pulled from shelves earlier this year?

  • Kids Only introduced water featuring Marvel Comics characters.

  • Bull’s-Eye is now offering a GUINNESS Draught Beer Blend Barbecue Sauce.

  • Andrew Weil continues to build on his healthy food message with pure fruit and nut bars from Nature’s Path.

Other Comments

  • For the fourth consecutive year, the beverage category continues to lead global new product introductions with new water products leading the way.
