National Hardware Show –

May 6-8, 2008

IMC recently attended the National Hardware Show and made the following observations:

Brand Highlights

  • Stanley displayed the new FatMax Extreme tools that feature a variety of knives, hammers and other hand tools known for extreme durability.

  • Reynolds featured their Handi-Vac Vacuum Sealer and Vacuum Freezer Bags System designed to improve freezer storage.

 

New Products

Mythic Paint introduced an innovative new line of non-toxic, ultra low odor paint that offers the same coverage and durability as traditional paints.

Licensing Trends and Thoughts

The green movement was in full effect.  This year, NHS featured a “Green Product World” showcase for companies providing environmentally safe solutions to reduce the carbon footprint.  Eco-friendly products for lawn & garden, home repair, and cleaning were a dominant trend.  Also included in the green theme of water conservation, were a variety of high efficiency/high performance plumbing fixtures such as shower heads and toilets.
