MAGIC 2007

IMC recently attended MAGIC and made the following observations:

Brand Highlights
  • For over 115 years, Carhartt has manufactured premium workwear known for exceptional durability, comfort, and quality of construction.  You can now add Carhartt’s new womens line which they debuted at the show.  Their new women’s line of apparel features many of the well-known styles in addition to the new more feminine silhouettes.

  • Born Shoes also made a splash highlighting their new and growing apparel line that follows many of the design cues from their successful shoe line.

Licensing Trends and Thoughts

  • Organic fashion’s continued to expand its presence at the show with more manufacturers highlighting lines made with organic cotton, wool, and linen.  In addition to the organic apparel lines, other sustainable materials were displayed such as fabric from bamboo.

Other Comments

  • Music was in the air in a big way for licensing.  Gwen Stefani’s licensed apparel was featured in Jerry Leigh’s fall lineup and the Sammy Hagar’s Cabo Wabo Tequila brand was a big hit at H3 Sportswear’s booth.  Gene Simmons of KISS fame was even spotted roaming the show promoting the new line of Moneybag apparel.
