Announces New Licensing Deals for Union Pacific Nostalgic
Logos Find Trendy New Audiences
LOUISVILLE, KY - IMC Licensing, the nation's leading full-service
licensing agency specializing in consumer product brands,
announced today that it has negotiated three new licensing
agreements for the Union Pacific brand to develop a portfolio
of apparel and accessory products targeting the youth market.
"We are pleased to contemporize the legendary Union Pacific
railroad with trendy licensees like Chaser, All-Star Apparel
and Mad Engine," said Cara Bernosky, President of IMC. "The
Union Pacific carries an aura of authenticity because of its
history as the largest, oldest and greatest railroad. Today's
consumers are continually reminded of the brand's dominance
almost every time they see a train go by and we see a tremendous
opportunity to link this legendary brand with a younger demographic."
As a result of these three licensing agreements, a host of
hip new tees and hats featuring nostalgic railroad logos and
advertisements will soon be available at retailers across
the country. Chaser, a division of B&H Company, is launching
a series of "distressed" tee's bearing the nostalgic marks
as well as Union Pacific advertising from the early to mid-1900's.
Chaser products will be available at Urban Outfitters and
other high-end specialty clothing shops.
All-Star Apparel is test-marketing new caps bearing the nostalgic
logos as well as the current Union Pacific Shield. The caps,
also featuring a handy pocket inside to add functionality
to fashion, will be available at Hat World and Lids.
Mad Engine is launching a series of stylish tee's bearing
innovative, more stylized interpretations of Union Pacific
brand artwork in never been seen before designs and styles.
Mad Engine is licensed for specialty clothing stores as well
as mid-tier and mass channels.
According to Brenda Mainwaring, Director of Corporate Relations
for Union Pacific, "Railroads have a unique appeal to young
and old. These new products will extend Union Pacific's appeal
to another generation of railfans."
"We believe that apparel is just one potential category for
Union Pacific," added Ms. Bernosky. "Building on these equities,
we are developing other programs in juvenile products, toys,
home furnishings and travel goods."
