Kitchen/Bath Industry Show (KBIS)

IMC recently attended the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show and made the following observations:

New Products on Show

• Danby refrigerators with licensed properties on the door.  A Coors Light under-counter unit was on display at the Danby Booth.

• AM Appliances has developed a proprietary process for reproducing images on refrigerator doors in photo quality durable power coat finish process.  In Europe, customers can order custom painted doors that even could reproduce a favorite family photo.  Licensed properties are sure to end up on these new products.

Licensing Trends and Thoughts

• Organic shapes and unique materials are cutting edge at this years KBIS, featuring art-glass style sink basins and counter surfaces for the bath and home.

• The indoor/outdoor Kitchen and Bathroom trend continues to build with a wider selection of furniture, accessories and appliances for the kitchen and bath. Teak furniture, Outdoor appliances (even an outdoor pizza oven), and custom cabinetry are all featured at this years KBIS Show.  Options in the indoor/outdoor kitchen are growing with unique products that take stainless steel one step further.  New stainless custom cabinets with unique finishes that convincingly mimic natural wood grain tones and rich burl finishes are creating a custom kitchen look for the patio.
